1968 - The youngest winner of the Nobel Peace Prize was killed!

The assassination of Martin Luther King Jr. shocked the world. It was in 1968, for sure.

When he died, he was the symbol of the civil rights movement in America and also the leader of American blacks.  Who could think to kill this guy, who received the Nobel Peace Prize when he was just 35? Well, as it happened with John Kennedy,  somebody did it. In 1968, you bet.

What? The man who was named Man of The Year by Time magazine five years before was shot in 1968? Yes, by “somebody” called James Earl Ray, an international man-hunt. Why? We can imagine why.

Martih Luther King Jr. was shot just once  in a motel in Memphis, planning the poor people march on Washington that was scheduled for the end of that April.  Of 1968, no doubt.

It was such a surprise! But there was much more to go, so (or even more) shocking than that crime.

We were in 1968, remember?
