Brazil has already changed with the street manifestations agains almost everything, that are still happening all over the country. The transports fare, that was the main theme of the protesters, was announced yesterday by the government. But there is still a vast roll of things asked by the Brazilian people.
Anyway, the movement comes now to its most important moment: what next? The trend is to have less and less manifestations, even with a lot of things to complain about the government. And the main mistake in this case is to say that the movement "achieved nothing". This vision is wrong. Brazil is already another country.
This wrong analysis was also made about May 1968 in France. Then, despite of all the protests that paralyzed the country, there was a presidential election in July and Charles De Gaulle, one of the aims of the manifestations, won and won easily. So some people said that "all the movement was for nothing". But this is a blind observation. It is easy to verify that not just France, but the world changed a lot after May 1968, in several areas like politics, economy, behavior, entertainment.
Nowadays in Brazil the situation is similar. All the movement that started at the beggining of June already changed Brazil completely. It is soon to say what is the face of this new country. But there is no doubt that we are living in a new nation. And that, for sure, is very good news!
