1968 - the year!

Years, decades, centuries... Just a way to try to organize
facts, events, even if they are not really related.

Not for 1968! This is really a turning point, a unique year,
a period of 366 days of real change. For the world and for
each one of our lives.

Facts can be classified in "before" and "after" 1968, no in
the "the 20th century", for example.

Everything changed in 1968. Some people that it was all
"much ado about nothing". Can be. But  you cannot deny
the impact of 1968.

This blog is about 1968. Why? It is a personal effort to
try to understand or organize some of the facts of this
fantastic year. I was 17 then and lost almost everything.
I remember my anxiety to read everyday the newspaper
and try not just to be informed but also understand what
was going on.

It was useless. Nobody can understand what happened
then, after all those years. But we can try to remember and
try to put  some order in this chaos. Not to really understand
something that it is impossible to understand. But maybe to try
minimze a feeling of emptyness, to task an eye in the most incredible
amount events that happened in the world in such a short period
like January 1st and December 31st of 1968.

The world changed from 1968 on. In the US, in Prague, in Paris,
in Brazil, my country. This for sure deserves a lot of reflections,
even if they are useless in practical terms.

We all lived a dream (or a nightmare) in 1968 and/or in the next
years. Even today, 44 years later, 1968 still lives.

What a year!
