Is 2013 repeating 1968 in Brazil? Well, not exactly, but is very similar. We are living in Brazil a situation of bigger and bigger protests in the streets, with thousand of people all over the country protesting against everything: prices of buses fare, politicians, Congress, government (in all levels), lack of resources for education and health...
Remember 1968 in Paris, does not it? A movement that grows everyday, with young people in the streets protesting. And it is not just a political movement, as happened in Brazil in 1968. Then there were also thousand of people in the streets, but the protests were more in São Paulo and specially Rio de Janeiro and it was just a political protest, against the dictatorship.
Now, it is completely different. We could not say that the movement we are living is just political. It is much more than that. Just like Paris, 1968.
We just hope that this time the final result of all this protests would be completely different from 1968 in Brazil. At that time, the dictatorship reacted and became even more cruel. This time, it does not look like that this will happen again. But it is impossible to say what will be the results.
The only conclusion is that Brazil will not be the same after all this protests. Like the world, after 1968...
